Bal Mithai was a development of Lala Joga Ram Sah of Lala Bazar, Almora amid mid twentieth century. Researchers trust that the Bal Mithai at first more likely than not been the name of the prime offering to the Sun God. Throughout the years, the sweet has discovered home in numerous Kumaoni stories and old stories, emerging from the milieu of Kumaon, as clear from the journals of noted Hindi essayist.
