मंडुआ कई नामो से जाने वाला यह साधारण अनाज अपनी पौष्टिक गुणवता के मालूम होते ही, सब का चहेता अनाज बन गया है.  आज के उपभोक्ता बाजार में, गेहूं से महँगा हो गया है. एक बहुराष्ट्रीय कम्पनी तो इसके बिस्कुट भी  बनाने लगी है.  विदेशों में जो भारत के उत्तराखंडी, कर्नाटकी  और विहार, महाराष्ट्र के कुछ भागों के लोग रहते हैं,  भारतीय स्टोरों में, उनके लिए मंडुये का आटा और साबुत दाना, आसानी से मिल जाता है।साबुत दाने को भिगो कर अंकुरित होने पर उसका दलिया, शिशुओं को दिया जाता है.
